Tuesday’s Shopping Trip

Tuesday: Food Week

This week is “food week” where we are learning new vocabulary about different food using games, lessons, and little trips around Trapaga.

We had some fun outside in the morning to start, before we began the lessons inside. We played Simon Says, Chinese whispers, and a chasing game where some children pretended to be an animal and chased the others who pretended to be food. It was great because it was dry and sunny, but not too hot!

We talked about what we learned on Monday and we managed to remember the food and nature words very well!

Before break time we planned a trip to buy some food that we had chosen in groups of 3 or 4 children. We drew the food and wrote their name in English beside them, to help us. We even used a map to find the closest supermarket and bakery.

After the break we went to the supermarket and bakery and bought the food we had chosen: cherries, watermelon, honey, cake, spaghetti, and bananas. Like yesterday’s nature trip, we had great fun being around the town and it helped us to learn the English words.

When we returned to the classroom we talked about the experience and even got to taste some watermelon and cherries. We listened to some songs like “Old MacDonald had a Farm” and then started to write this blog before going home at 1pm.

We can’t wait for our next adventure!
