Emotions

This week we are learning about feelings and emotions. We are also practicing for the play on friday.

On Monday, the children made faces and sung songs about emotions. In the afternoon they rehersed for the play, which involved splitting the children into four groups and giving them a topic each.

On Tuesday, we went on an outing to a Dam in Gladako. We walked through the forest.

How was the weather?

Today we learnt about the weather, through talking about the weather, playing games and by doing painting, crafts and colouring.  We made a rewards tree and went outside to collect leaves to put on it. We also talked about clothes and dressed the dolls based on different weather conditions. We also looked about how the weather changes and we made a weather station to discuss the daily weather forecast.

Week 3 - Cartoons/comic week

This week we worked on the theme of cartoons and comics. On Monday we began by watching an episode of Peppa Pig in which she embarked on a treasure hunt with her family. We then did the same! The children drew their own maps as a creative exercise before I showed them my preprepared ones and we went out into the playground. On Tuesday we started with an episode of 'Fireman Sam' before we worked with flashcards to establish exactly what a firefighter does or doesn't do. That afternoon we worked on creating our own class superhero and supervillain.

So far from Animals Week

So far from Animals week, we have learnt the names of animals and where they live, played games like Chinese whispers to revise the animal vocabulary, made animal masks, drawn pictures of animals that we like and animals that we do not like as well as other things. On Thursday, we watched 64 Zoo Lane, an English programme which tells various stories involving animals as well as going out to feed the birds in the Square. It has been a very good week so far!

Kurutziaga - Thursday - Olympic Week

On Thursday we did our own Olympic games! The children had fun competing in the egg and spoon race, sack race and wheelbarrow race. We practiced sport related vocabulary such as winning, loosing and drawing as well as sport emotion vocabulary such as proud and dissapointed. We had also done a craft activity, making our own papier machee shot puts.

Olympic Games Week - Our Olympic Games!

On Thursday we played a crazy game with balloons. Then, we tested our sports and English knowledge with a Kahoot quiz. Overall, we did very well and knew most of the answers. Then we sketched a big map of the world and had to decide which country was the best at each sport. This was difficult as some answers were less obvious than others. In the afternoon, we held our own version of the Olympic Games with sack races, cone games and ball games.

Week 2 - Olympic Games Week

This week is Olympic Games week. We are going to host our own Olympic Games as well as create and play our own crazy games. On Tuesday, we looked at the vocabulary for different sports and we played a quiz about famous sports people. Not many people knew who Michael Phelps was! We decided to combine with the other class and we played games altogether and then danced altogether. This worked well as there were more people playing the games, so it was more exciting.

Olympic Week: sports

After deciding which games we wanted to play in the lead up to our ´olympics´ on Friday we played two of them. we played dodge ball (the Basque way!) and a new game we called ball and tires. we enjoyed playing a sport that we all knew well and one that was new to most of us! It was great fun!

Creating our campaigns

Yesterday we made a poster in groups and we designed a t-shirt. There are 3 campaigns in our class: no more cracks in the pavement, put your recycling in the correct bin and litter on the floor. In the park we took photos with the problem and our posters. Toady we played games, we watched some videos and we learned the names of places in the town. We prepared and practised our videos for the campaign and we will record the videos tomorrow morning while wearing our t-shirts. This afternoon everybody made slime and we all enjoyed it!

Tuesday’s Shopping Trip

Tuesday: Food Week

This week is “food week” where we are learning new vocabulary about different food using games, lessons, and little trips around Trapaga.

We had some fun outside in the morning to start, before we began the lessons inside. We played Simon Says, Chinese whispers, and a chasing game where some children pretended to be an animal and chased the others who pretended to be food. It was great because it was dry and sunny, but not too hot!
