End of week 3

Today brought to a close the 3rd week of the Enjoy English program. This was an adventure and imagination filled week with the theme of My Great Adventure. Throughout the week the kids explored vocabulary centered on adventures, explorations and nature, through songs, poems and other activities. The beginning of the week focused on the famous story for kids ´We are going on a bear hunt´. The kids listened to the story acted it out in the classroom and then later in the week recreated it. Mid week was based on the topics of dragons and explorers. As part of the this the kids collaboratively created a giant dragon painting (seen below) by far one of the kids favourite activities in the program to date. The kids also carried out other activities centered on the dragon theme including, making a dragon from play dough and creating dragon masks. For the day which was based on explorers the kids looked at different famous explorers, both real and fiction and also spoke about the meaning of an explorer. One activity which was done that was based on this theme that the kids really enjoyed was creating there own life size explorer - which they named Tadeo Jones. They also created binoculars which they had learned were very important pieces of equipment for explorers. They also were lucky enough to be able to attend the older groups film festival which they really liked. On the final day (Today) we took them to the river as the weather was so lovely and they had been working very hard over the past few weeks. Below I have included some pictures of activities done throughout the week!
