End of week 2 - We are artist -

Today marks the final day of week two of the Enjoy English programme- We are artists week. This week the kids were very busy, learning, exploring and creating! The topic of this week was based on art and famous artists as well as encouraging children to create their own art and find the artists within them. The kids understood this weeks new vocabulary of colours, artists materials and shapes very well and enjoyed engaging with various activities based on them such as creating a color wheel and having fun with the shapes bag. All through the week we looked at famous artists including- Monet, Mondrian, Kandinsky, Warhol and Van Gogh- and created art inspired by their work. The kids took great enjoyment from manipulating the artists ideas and making them their own. We also made other art and craft pieces including straw art and salt works. All of these creations were kept in the school and were presented in a large exhibition of the students work today (Friday), students from the older group and parents/guardians from were invited to come look at the kids exhibition in the afternoon and they were really impressed with the kids work and the hard work and creativity that could be seen in the work. As both Friday and Thursday were warm days we took the kids outside of the classroom and played games like tresure hunts for artwork puzzles, water games and the group even joined in with the older group for activites including a game of dodgeball! Overall this week was a very enjoyable and active week for the kids and below I have included some pictures for you all to look at and get ab idea of some of the fun that was had this week!
